I Have Been On a Very Long Journey ....... and I would like to share it with you!

"Le Tour de Paris"  .... Hotel Georges V ... from Paris with love....

The foyer of our hotel "King Georges V" .... the flowers were breathtaking in all hues of blue, lavender, lilac and indigo .....  It was with awe I entered this foyer .... such elegance and beauty ... we had been travelling for 42 hours from Australia .....

we were embraced by the calm and elegant
French welcome at 12.00 midnight.... a delay of 18 hours ....
I have always believed that Australians are such intrepid travellers .... we have to be as we are at the end of the earth!

Alexander joined us in Paris from Cape Town, South Africa after finishing filming "Chronicle" ......

I am so in love with the tented ceiling of the courtyard tents .... Manuel Canovas does it so well!

Andrew and I at dinner in the courtyard .... Georges V ...

Our gorgeous Dominic also joined us after finishing his exams as did his cousin, Brigid .....

Long waits in Changi Airport .... the coffee was good!

beautiful blooms from Paris and of course our gorgeous Laduree confections .... this is just the beginning ....

lots of love

I CANNOT BELIEVE the beauty and essence of refinement not only in the hotel décor, but in your own faces and family. What beautiful people you are! Oh please come and visit me when you can; I have featured my home via a link from Castles....it is humble, but it is my home. Bienvenue ma belle...it is my Petit Trianon....Anita

Frances,
I was just reliving my recent trip to Paris. How lucky to be celebrating life with our family while in Paris. Keep the images coming! BTW, I made your risotto again (actually, I make it quite often!) for a friend who was visiting and she loved every single bite. I told her about how I got the recipe...you were thought about at dinner that night.

Frances,
Ha! I really was reliving being in Paris so much that I meant to write "with your family" not with our family! Although I could travel in Paris with your family!

Oh beautiful friend!

I LOVE THAT TOWER OF MACAROONS YOU ADDED! LONG LIVE FRENCH STYLE!

Oh dearest, thank you for stepping into my home! It is humble, but fabulous because we took a simple little house and made it OURS. THANK YOU for strolling into my place; it has been a wonderful journey to have my guests come in. I can't wait to see more of your lovely PHOTOS FROM PARIS!

Oh gosh Frances you are so lucky (except for the 42 hours to get there - you will have to fill us in on more detail on that one) I thought you must have been away as there were no new posts every week when I popped by. How lovely to get your whole family there too. I am so jealous - everyone is going to Paris except me! My step kids are there right now. Thank goodness for blogs so I can live it through your eyes. I look forward to the next installment and with lots of details please. You can give us all lots of tips for planning our next trip to Paris.

I enjoyed this post before, but even more now- watched a programme last night on the actual flowers in your images...how the design was discussed, the ordering of the flowers, the hanging orchids in the courtyard(that was late for arrival but literally made it in minutes) they went into great detail about how it was hooked up and coincided with the anual evening of the Pompidou. The ballroom was decorated in similar style. The program also showed previous flower arrangements and the one before these were all lime and yello-greens. What amazed me was the extra long stems of all the flowers and specifically of the hydrangeas..such long straight stems...
Have a good day
